Description

Terraco Weathercoat GP – Two-Component Elastomeric Waterproofing

Weathercoat GP is a two-component cement-acrylic coating that forms a permanent, flexible waterproof layer on concrete and masonry. The kit contains a 5kg acrylic resin and a 15kg cement-based powder, mixed on site.

Where to use

  • Flat roofs, balconies and patio terraces
  • Wet room walls and floors, including beneath ceramic tiles
  • Swimming pools, ponds and drinking water tanks
  • Foundations, retaining walls and water channels

Key properties

  • Highly flexible (elongation >50%), bridges cracks up to 3.2mm
  • BS 6920 compliant for contact with drinking water
  • EN 14891 compliant: tile adhesives and mortars bond directly to it
  • Vapour permeable and water based (VOC <1 g/l)
  • Adheres to new and old in-situ and precast concrete

How to apply

  1. Clean the surface: remove laitance, loose material, oil and grease. Repair cracks and defects.
  2. Prime with Terraco Terrabond A (1 part primer : 3 parts water).
  3. Pour all the resin into a clean bucket, slowly add all the powder and mix with a slow drill (200–600 rpm) for at least 3 minutes. Leave for 5 minutes, then remix for 30 seconds. Do not add water.
  4. Apply at least two coats at right angles, 1.5–2.0mm total thickness, by brush or broom. Leave at least 6 hours between coats.
  5. Use within 1 hour of mixing. Do not apply if rain is expected within 24 hours. Not for use over bitumen coatings.

Allow 7 days’ cure before continuous water immersion. Rinse drinking water tanks thoroughly before use.
