Usage
SikaTack® Panel Primer is used to improve adhesion on porous and metal substrates such as aluminium, wood, ceramics, fibre cement and natural stone.
This product is suitable for experienced professional users only. Tests with actual substrates and conditions have to be performed to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.

Method of application
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease, oil, dust and contaminants.
Adhesion on substrates may be improved by adding and/or combining pre-treatment processes such as scuffing, cleaning and activating prior to the primer application.
Primer application
Shake the SikaTack® Panel Primer can very thoroughly until mixing ball rattles freely. Continue shaking for another minute and apply a thin but covering coat with a brush, felt or foam applicator.
Ideal application and surface temperature is between 15 °C and 25 °C.
SikaTack® Panel Primer has to be applied once only. Care must be taken to ensure that this single application gives adequately dense coverage. Consumption and method of application depend on the specific nature of the substrates. Tightly reseal container immediately after each use.
The SikaTack Panel system
SikaTack Panel is Sika’s system for the concealed, elastic bonding of ventilated facade panels to their supporting substructure. The SikaTack Panel products at Sealants4All:
- SikaTack Panel 300ml and SikaTack Panel 600ml: the non-sag, 1-component polyurethane panel adhesive, in a 300 ml cartridge or a 600 ml sausage;
- SikaTack Panel-50 600ml: a 1-component polyurethane adhesive that is also part of the system, in a 600 ml sausage;
- SikaTack Panel Adhesive Primer (this product): improves adhesion on porous and metal substrates;
- SikaTack Panel Fixing Tape 33m: holds the panels in place until the adhesive has cured and sets the joint thickness.
Confirm the system components and the primer for your panel type in the current Sika product data sheet, and test on the actual substrates to confirm adhesion and compatibility. The products are for experienced professional applicators only. Sika states that SikaTack Panel Fixing Tape is to be used in ventilated facades only by experienced professionals and after Sika Industry’s Technical Department has examined and approved the project details in writing.
