OVERVIEW
Handycoat Lite is a light weight ready to use fillers and board jointing compounds for most building surfaces, including sand / cement render and gypsum board. It gives a high quality, even surface for painting. Handycoat is specially manufactured for the painter to repair and touch up interior surfaces, both old and new, prior to painting.
PROPERTIES
Handycoat Lite has the low shrinkage and flexibility normally associated with a taping grade and the ease of sanding normally associated with a topping grade. Handycoat Lite is based on a combination of acrylic polymers and light weight fillers. The product has the following properties:
- Easy to use.
- 0% lighter in weight.
- Higher flexibility.
- Lower shrinkage.
- Easy sanding.
- Application up to 6mm
- Quick drying.
AREAS OF USE
When dry, Handycoat Lite bonds extremely well to, cementitious materials, gypsum, gypsum boards, sprayplasters, wood and all common building surfaces. Ideal as a gypsum board jointing compound and skimcoat, for patching hairline cracks in walls, ceilings, repairing damage to plaster/paint work, nail holes in woodwork, making good around door architrave’s and along the top of skirtings, etc.
PREPARATION OF SURFACE
Ensure that all dust, dirt and foreign matter are scraped and brushed away. Also ensure the surfaces are free from salts, oil, grease and ridges, and protect all adjacent surfaces not to be covered. Apply Penetrating Primer on all dusting surfaces.
APPLICATION & CLEANING OF TOOLS Apply the filler in a thin even layer. If a thick coat is necessary, apply several thin layers, allowing to dry between layers. Lightly sand the final surface before painting, within 24 hour of application. Clean tools and equipment with water after use.

PACKAGING & STORAGE
Handycoat Lite is supplied in 4kg and 18kg containers. Store containers in a clean dry area protected from direct sunlight and extreme heat and cold. Unopened containers can be stored for 12 months. Use oldest material first.
